1802/0 1/2 C Reverse of 1802, C-2, B-2, R.3, VF20 PCGS. CAC. Our EAC Grade Fine 12. A well-balanced midgrade representative with nominal strike deficiency at the center reverse. Other than a couple of tiny abrasions on Liberty's cheek and neck, the surfaces exhibit a smooth, chocolate-brown appearance with none of the visible corrosion so often seen on this issue.

Variety: C-2, B-2. Manley Die State 2.0. Ronald Manley records five die states of the 1802/0 New Reverse half cents. Die States 2.0 and 4.0 are called "very scarce," the only die states normally encountered. The others are considerably rarer.

Population Data (4/15): PCGS has certified 25 examples in VF20 or finer grades, including seven VF20. This is the sole VF20 with the CAC green approval sticker.

Heritage Commentary: Although far more available than its Reverse of 1800 counterpart, this issue is still scarce and desirable in all levels of preservation. Struck on spoiled cent planchets, the B-2 variety is most easily distinguished by the Ts on the reverse, which lack their left base, and a faint die scratch from the right stem end to the right base of the final A.
