Description
1802/0 1/2 C Reverse of 1802, C-2, B-2, R.3, VG8 PCGS. Manley Die State 2.0. A second obverse die was prepared for 1800 coinage, but never used, and no half cents were coined in 1801. The die was overdated with a 2 punched over the final 0, and used for both 1802/0 varieties. This example with the new reverse has exceptional chocolate-brown surfaces, especially for the grade. The central reverse is a trifle weak, as always. Our EAC grade VG8.From The Mark Hays Collection of Half Cents.
