Description

1802/0 C-1, B-1 Half Cent, Good 6
Reverse of 1800

1802/O 1/2 C Reverse of 1800, C-1, B-1, R.6, Good 6 PCGS. Manley Die State 2.0. A small rust lump is barely visible inside the top of the 0 in the date as Ronald Manley describes for his extremely rare late die state. Walter Breen and Roger Cohen both noted that this was the first variety of 1802, but Manley comments that the 1802 C-1 half cents were struck between early and late die states of 1802 C-2. This example has smooth and attractive light olive surfaces with myriad trivial marks as expected for the grade. Our EAC grade Good 5.
