Description

1805 C-3, B-3 Half Cent, VF30
Small 5, Stems

1805 1/2 C Small 5, Stems VF30 PCGS. C-3, B-3, R.4. Two varieties are known for the Small 5, Stems half cents of 1805, and they represent the rarest varieties of the year. The usual die state, this piece has an obvious die bulge in the right obverse field, and HALF CENT is partially invisible. This is a surprisingly fine example of the Small 5, Stems variety of 1805 half cents. Typically, these pieces are found in VG or lower grades. This example is probably among the top dozen known of the variety. Smooth and mottled olive, tan, and steel surfaces show trivial marks on each side that are consistent with the grade. Our EAC grade VG10.(Registry values: P5)
