Description

1806 Half Cent, MS64 Brown
Large 6, Stems, C-4

1806 1/2 C Large 6, Stems, C-4, B-4, R.1, MS64 Brown NGC. Breen Die State II. The near-Gem obverse is particularly unmarked and well-produced, with only the usual weakness at the drapery folds. The Large 6 shows a hint of repunching and touches the drapery. True-to-form for the die state, the top of the legend and the highest leaves of the wreath are lightly struck from misalignment of the dies, where the reverse is rotated clockwise 15°. A few light marks appear on the reverse fields and wreath. Both sides display glimpses of natural orange mint luster and intermittent purplish-brown toning. Our EAC grade MS60.
