Impressive 1809 C-3 Half Cent, MS65 Brown

1809 1/2 C MS65 Brown NGC. C-3, B-4, R.1. When a Mint State 1809 half cent is encountered, odds are great that it is an example of the C-3 die marriage. It is this variety that is seen more often than all others in MS60 or finer grades. This example shows a narrow rim break in the dentils over the D, as always, but that rim break is sometimes invisible due to centering issues. Here is a boldly defined Gem with full satiny cartwheel luster, deep steel toning, and hints of faded mint color on the reverse. MRB MS62. Census: 5 in 65 Brown, 2 finer (2/10).(Registry values: P3)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 222P, PCGS# 1123, Greysheet# 510)

Weight: 5.44 grams
