Description

    1811 C-2, B-2 Half Cent, XF45
    Late Die State

1811 1/2 C XF45 PCGS. CAC. C-2, B-2, Low R.3. Manley Die State 3.0, the scarce late die state, with prominent clash marks on the obverse and delicate reverse die cracks. Although the two varieties of 1811 half cents are usually described as Wide Date or Narrow Date coins, the best attribution point is the position of Star 13. That star is centered between the hair curl and border on the Wide Date coins, and nearly touches a dentil on the Narrow Date coins, such as this piece. This Choice XF specimen is a lovely example with chestnut-brown surfaces and traces of cartwheel luster. Our EAC grade VF35. Population: 14 in 45, 9 finer (4/12).(Registry values: P7) (NGC ID# 222S, PCGS# 1135)

    Weight: 5.44 grams

    Metal: 100% Copper
