Description

1825 C-2, B-2 Half Cent, MS64 Brown
Traces of Mint Red

1825 1/2 C C-2, B-2, R.1, MS64 Brown PCGS. Ex: Jon D. Lusk Collection. Manley Die State 3.0. Fuhrman State 3. Although both 1825 varieties are plentiful, examples with mint red are extremely rare. An attractive brown Mint State example is the best that most collectors can hope for. The present piece is one such coin, displaying fully lustrous chocolate-brown surfaces and specks of tan on each side. Traces of faded mint red remain on the reverse. Population for both 1825 varieties: 33 in 64 (1 in 64+) Brown, 8 finer (1/24).
