Description

1825 C-2, B-2 Half Cent, XF45
Struck 40% Off-Center North

1825 1/2 C Off-Center Strike, C-2, B-2 XF45 PCGS. Luckily, all of the key diagnostics to identify the C-2 variety, with the 25 of the date centered beneath the lowest curl and star 12 noticeably recut. Remarkably, almost half of Liberty was missing in action yet the coin still circulated enough to show 15 points of wear. This is an exceptional half cent error and a prize for the specialist, the likes of which will not be seen again in all probability. The surfaces are a pleasing medium-brown with no distractions, the captivating off-center strike aside. Our EAC grade VF25.
