Description

1828 1/2 C 13 Stars MS 65 Red and Brown PCGS. A light die break is inside the wreath at 10 o'clock. Pleasant, deep brown toning with a smattering of brilliant-red retained, especially around the circumference. The reverse has almost toned to an attractive lavender or purple. Very appealing to the collector who likes toned coins and is turned off by the usual spotty red specimens. A condition rarity as well. Population: 4 in 65, none finer (3/01).
