Description

1834 C-1 Half Cent, MS64+ Red and Brown
Few Finer Examples Extant

1834 1/2 C C-1, B-1, R.1, MS64+ Red and Brown PCGS. CAC. Central sage-steel surfaces give way to red regions at the rim, particularly on the reverse. The plus-graded near-Gem certification was achieved through a lack of abrasions, and eye appeal is further enhanced through a strong strike. The 1834 is one of the many single die marriage years at the end of the half cent series, and this one is particularly scarce in higher grades. Population: 26 in 64 (3 in 64+) Red and Brown, 6 finer. CAC: 10 in 64, 4 finer (10/25).
