Description

1835 Half Cent, MS65 Red
C-1, Vibrant Mint Color

1835 1/2 C C-1, B-1, R.1, MS65 Red PCGS. Ex: D.L. Hansen Collection. Manley Die State 2.0, with extensive clash marks within the wreath and around Liberty's portrait. Luminous copper-red luster complements the sharp devices and unabraded surfaces on the present Gem. A loupe reveals pinpoint flecks and a faint fingerprint fragment near the profile, but to the unaided eye the visual appeal is excellent. Unimprovable at PCGS, and a desirable addition for the finest quality early type set. Population (for both varieties combined): 7 in 65 Red, 0 finer (3/24).
Ex: Philadelphia Signature (Heritage, 8/2012), lot 3051; Dallas Signature (Heritage, 11/2020), lot 3286.
