1851 C-1, B-1 Half Cent, MS64 Brown
Bareford-Reiver Pedigree
1851 1/2 C C-1, B-1, R.1, MS64 Brown NGC. Manley Die State
1.0, the only recorded die state. The obverse is blundered with the
base of an extra 1 plainly visible in the field to the right of the
final digit in the date. Deep steel coloration with considerable
dark and mellow orange mint color, not fiery as sometimes seen. Our
EAC grade MS63.Ex: Wayte Raymond (2/1947), lot 72; Harold Bareford; William Bareford (5/25/1984); Jules Reiver (Heritage, 1/2006), lot 19147.
