    (1834) Low-2, HT-4 Andrew Jackson Token, VF30
    Important Hard Times Rarity
    Only Two Known

(1834) Andrew Jackson, Low-2, HT-4, W-09-30b, R.8, VF30 NGC. Brass, plain edge. The finest known example grades VF30 and is unholed. That piece is illustrated in A Guide Book of Hard Times Tokens and in The True Hard Times Tokens. It is held in the Dr. Robert A. Schuman Collection. This piece from the Donald G. Partrick Collection has nearly equal sharpness and is an attractive example of a legendary rarity.

The reverse die of this variety appeared initially on Low-4 where the election date was incorrectly entered as 1829. The reverse die was corrected, punching an 8 over the 9, before Low-2 and Low-3 were struck. Both Lyman Low and Russell Rulau numbered these varieties out of order
