    1836 HT-187 Huckel, Burrows & Jennings Token, MS62
    Important St. Louis Rarity

1836 St. Louis, Missouri, Huckel, Burrows & Jennings, Low-102, HT-187, W-MO-020-10b, R.8, MS62 NGC. Brass, plain edge. A classic rarity in the Hard Times token series struck in brass and white metal, this is the only Hard Times-era token from Missouri. A variation has HUCKEL mostly removed from the die, apparently following his departure from the firm. Of all variations, there are perhaps half-a-dozen known. Rich bluish-brown toning accompanies brilliant yellow luster on this impressive piece.
Ex: Donald Miller; Q. David Bowers (6/29/1983); Donald G. Partrick.
