Description

Sharp, High-End MS62 MCMVII
High Relief Twenty, Wire Rim

1907 $20 High Relief, Wire Rim MS62 PCGS. This specimen of the eternally popular High Relief double eagle design, here in the more-available Wire Rim version, presents a significant opportunity for some fortunate bidder. There are no visible contact marks on either side. The coin appears fully struck throughout, with good articulation on Liberty's face, the torch, the panes of the Capitol building, the rock, her sandals, and the eagle on the reverse. Greenish-gold coloration predominates, although there is a hint of reddish-gold patina. The swirling die polish marks noted are characteristic of the issue. Although this piece numerically is only a tad higher than the median grade for all certified survivors at both NGC and PCGS, in terms of aesthetic appeal we believe it to be considerably finer. A high-end coin.(Registry values: N4719)
