MCMVII High Relief Double Eagle, MS64
Strong Wire Rim Around Most of Each Side
1907 $20 High Relief, Wire Rim MS64 NGC. Each side of this
near-Gem High Relief displays bright, even yellow-gold color with
very little of the usually seen reddish patina present. The
surfaces are remarkably clean, so clean one could almost count the
contact marks. The only post-striking defects worthy of mention is
a string-like pinscratch below the eagle on the lower reverse, and
a tiny rim bump at 5 o'clock on the reverse rim. The mint luster is
bright and satiny, as always seen on High Reliefs, and the extruded
wire rim is more than 60% complete around both obverse and
