Description
1907 High Relief Twenty, XF45
Wire Rim
1907 $20 High Relief, Wire Rim XF45 NGC. Fifteen points of
wear underscores just how prominently the devices stood out from
the surrounding fields on High Relief twenties. On this piece the
design elements are still boldly rendered and the evidence of
friction is generally limited to the highpoints of the devices. The
surfaces appear natural with deeper russet-rose patina around the
margins and within the recesses of the design elements, contrasting
noticeably against the reddish-tinted yellow-gold fields. There are
no grade-inconsistent contact marks on either side. From The Buxton Collection. (Registry values: N2998)
