    Description

Franz Joseph I gold Proof 9 Ducats 1896-KB PR62 NGC, Kremnitz mint, KMX-8.1a, Fr-257. Mintage: 100. Struck to mark the 1000th year of the Hungarian Kingdom, this massive Proof issue presents glossy surfaces the color of autumnal gold and ornately detailed design illustrations that are incredibly intricate and pleasingly-bold throughout. Other than light chatter in the surrounding mirrors and a touch of rub on the central motifs, this flashy Gem captivates the eye. Seldom-offered and with a small mintage figure of just 100 pieces, decidedly-rare in this level of preservation. Sold with a dated (896-1896) leather box marked by a Hungarian leather manufacturer from Budapest.
