Description
Incredibly Scarce Bikanir Rupee in Gold
Bikanir. Ganga Singh gold Proof Restrike Nazarana Rupee VS 1994
(1937) PR64 NGC, KM-XM1a (Rare). Struck to mark the 50th
anniversary of Maharaja Ganga Singh's reign, this extremely scarce
gold Proof Nazarana Rupee features a facing military bust and a
detailed reverse with wreath and royal emblems. Issued as a
restrike, it displays clean mirrored fields with little to no
handling marks in hand. The first of its type we've offered at our
firm, and one of only two currently graded by NGC, attesting to the
paucity of the type. This is an exciting opportunity sure to
attract spirited bidding amongst a range of collectors. The markers
on the planchet seem to be a match to the example sold by Baldwin
in 1995.Ex. Dr. Lawrence A. Adams Collection (CNG Triton XIX, January 2016, Lot 2420); Baldwin Auction 6 (October 1995, Lot 717)
