British India. Edward VII Original Proof 1/4 Anna 1909 PR63 Red and Brown NGC, Calcutta mint, KM502, S&W-7.179. Rare as a date in both proof and circulation format, with the present example exhibiting deeply reflective fields on both sides and subdued mint color that mostly presides in the obverse centers. The only proof of the date thus far certified by NGC and in non-restrike form (although those are rather elusive as well), the only example of the date that we have been able to trace in the last decade plus of archived auction sales.
