British India. George VI nickel Proof Pattern 1/2 Rupee 1946-(B) PR64 NGC, Bombay mint, S&W-9.72a (where it is noted, "Occurs in set with Rupee and 1/4."), KM-Pn2 RRRR, wide rim. As with the previous 1/4 Rupee, this piece has a superb strike, with deeply mirrored fields and some cameo contrast. No significant flaws are noted, and a small flan chip is wisible, under close examination, on the reverse between the I of INDIA and the 6 of the date. The same historical information applies to this piece as listed in the previous description for the 1946 1/4 Real. A rare opportunity to acquire two of the rarest issues in the British India series.

We also followed the bidding online yesterday here in Salt Lake for the other 3 coins - great fun. Prices realized met or exceeded our expectations.
