Description
British India. Victoria gold Proof Restrike Mohur 1870-(c) PR65 NGC, Calcutta mint, KM480, Prid-11, S&W-4.9. Young bust type with V on ground line of bust. Reeded edge. A remarkably difficult date and type to procure in any condition, with a survey of auction records from the past 15 years revealing only a small handful becoming available, this being the finest of just 5 total specimens certified to-date by NGC. The first of this 'young bust' variety we have offered, and one which reveals the most careful strike and precision of detail. From the Storck Collection
