    Description

British India. William IV gold Proof Restrike Mohur 1835-(C) PR62 NGC, Calcutta mint, KM451.3, S&W-1.13. Type B Obverse. Straight Grained edge, "F" on truncation. One of the most popular types in an already highly subscribed restrike series, this Mohur boasts a far more charismatic appearance than one usually observes; its glassy surfaces contrasted through a matte effect to the legends, margins and elements of William's portrait. Boasting a crisp strike, brilliant mirror fields with little evidence of die rust and only minor hairlines in line with the grade; a visually unmatched near-choice selection.

Note for clients in the European Union: This lot is considered by the European Union to be “investment gold”. We believe that it meets the criteria established in Article 344(1), point (2) of Council Directive 2006/112/EC and thus should be exempt from import VAT regardless of the selling price. Any questions or concerns about VAT should be addressed to your accountant or local tax authority.
