Description

1859 1C MS64 NGC. This is a visually enchanting near-Gem example of the first Indian cent issue. In addition to its status as a first-year issue, the piece also represents the unique Laurel Wreath reverse type, which was only produced in 1859. This example is boldly struck, showing the usual softness of definition on the tips of the headdress feathers. Lustrous with even tan coloration and minimal contact marks.
