One-Year Laurel Wreath Type

1859 1C MS64 PCGS. Eagle Eye Photo Seal. James Longacre's Indian Head design was introduced in 1859 but its reverse only featured a laurel wreath for that one year. In 1860, the reverse design was was modified to an oak wreath, creating a popular single-year type. This impressive Choice example offers sharply detailed design elements and lightly marked copper-red surfaces, with vibrant mint luster and outstanding eye appeal.(Registry values: N1793)
