Essential 1859 Indian Cent, MS66
1859 1C MS66 NGC. CAC. First year of the Indian cent design, and the only year with the laurel wreath reverse, which makes the 1859 an essential one-year type coin. The original "white" surfaces of this 88% copper, 12% nickel composition have taken on a slight overlay of reddish patina. The design elements are well, but not fully defined on each side. Light die cracking indicates the advanced state of this die pairing at the time this coin was produced.
