    Rare Premium Gem 1859 Indian Cent

    1859 1C MS66 PCGS. With the Indian Cent design as adopted on Cents from 1860 through 1909 on the obverse, and the laurel wreath reverse that was only used in this year, the 1859 has proved to be a type coin of enduring popularity. This piece has taken on an attractive overlay of reddish patina on each side with bright mint luster throughout. Well struck, the only noticeable abrasion is a tiny, angling mark near the Indian's mouth. One of the finest pieces known. Population: 14 in 66, 0 finer (11/05).
