Description

1859 Indian Cent, MS65
Snow-2, FS-302, Repunched Date
Huge Retained Reverse Cud

1859 1C Repunched Date, Snow-2, FS-302, MS65 PCGS. The doubled date of the Snow-2 1859 Indian cent is most obvious on the 8, where the secondary impression is shifted south of the primary 8. This Gem example is tied for the finest PCGS has attributed. A bold strike encompasses the central devices, with frosty luster throughout the fields. Most of each side displays bright golden color, with wisps of amber toning and a few tiny dabs of lilac. On the reverse, a massive retained cud occupies the entire lower right quadrant.
