Description
Remarkable 1861 Indian Cent, MS66
1861 1C MS66 PCGS. Despite the mintage exceeding 10 million pieces of the 1861 cent, the Premium Gem level at PCGS is about as good as it gets, where there are 55 examples certified, with only 11 finer (7/10). This is a remarkably nice coin--fully struck except for the feather tips--and with all four diamonds on the ribbon. Only a couple of microflecks appear under a loupe. A dot-shape planchet flaw just before Liberty's forehead is as made. The even orange-lilac color wraps up this pretty package.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 227G, PCGS# 2061, GSID# 1292)
