Copper-Nickel Type Coin

1863 1C MS66+ PCGS. The 1863 is one of the most plentiful copper-nickel Indian cent issues, although examples are scarce in Premium Gem condition and nearly uncollectible finer. This Plus-graded coin is tied for the finest at PCGS (6/19). It is razor-sharp and virtually flawless aside from some unobtrusive pepper specks in the upper right reverse quadrant. Lovely rose-gold hues adorn the centers, ceding to richer peach-orange margins. Population: 98 in 66 (35 in 66+), 0 finer (6/19).(Registry values: N2998)
