MS67 Red and Brown
1865 1C Plain 5 MS67 Red and Brown NGC. The obverse shows
gold and orange-red, although the cheek is deep lilac, as is the
central reverse. This precisely struck Superb Gem has vibrant
luster and has only minimal carbon. In terms of its numerical
grade, the present example is the single finest-certified, as it is
the only piece to garner an MS67 grade from either NGC or PCGS, as
