1866/1--6 1C MS66 Red and Brown NGC. FS-301, formerly FS-007.7. Snow-2. The date is sharply repunched, most obviously below the upper serif of the 1, and above the peak of the second 6. Copper-red with blushes of steel-blue. A single carbon fleck resides just above the R in AMERICA. Devoid of any significant marks. A marvelously well preserved Premium Gem example of this scarce variety. Census: 1 in 66 Red and Brown, none finer (3/09).(Registry values: N2998)
