Premium Gem Red and Brown 1866 Cent
Repunched Date FS-301, VP-001
1866 1C MS66 Red and Brown NGC. FS-301 (previously FS-7.7),
Snow-2, VP-001. The date is sharply repunched, most obviously below
the upper serif of the 1, and on the peak of the second 6.
Copper-red with blushes of pale blue. A single carbon fleck resides
just above the R in AMERICA. Essentially devoid of any significant
marks; a marvelously well preserved Premium Gem example of this
scarce variety. (Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 227P, PCGS# 2086, Greysheet# 1306)
