Description

Scarce MS65 Red 1868 Cent

1868 1C MS65 Red PCGS. One of the characteristics of 1868 cents is weakness around the rims, legends, and shield. This piece shows some softness in those areas, but in reality it is probably not something that the casual viewer would notice. The Gem surfaces display a rich overlay of reddish patina with an undertone of original orange-red luster. A couple of small specks of carbon on the reverse prevent an even higher grade. Population: 30 in 65, 3 finer (8/07).(Registry values: N2998)
