Description
Almost Uncirculated 1873 Doubled LIBERTY Cent
1873 1C Doubled LIBERTY, Closed 3 AU50 PCGS. Snow-1. FS-101, formerly FS-009. This dramatic example of hub doubling is rarely found in any grade and an AU, such as this coin, is considered a high grade find. All the letters of LIBERTY are boldly doubled. The surfaces are two-toned with deeper chocolate colored fields and brighter reddish accents over the high points. A number of small to medium-sized abrasions are scattered over each side, as one would expect from 10 points of circulation, and there is a shallow, diagonal planchet lamination at the top left of the E in ONE.(Registry values: P10)Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 2115, GSID# 1332)
