Rare Snow-1 Variant

1873 1C Doubled LIBERTY, Closed 3 MS63 Brown PCGS. Snow-1, FS-101. Among all Indian cent die varieties, the Doubled LIBERTY is the second most valuable, trailing only the 1888/7. A less prominent Snow-2 Doubled LIBERTY also exists for the Closed 3 1873, but the present lot is the key Guide Book Snow-1 variety with strong die doubling throughout LIBERTY. Other design elements, such as Liberty's eye and profile, are also clearly doubled. Sharply struck and satiny with medium walnut-brown, olive-green, and powder-blue toning. Minor obverse carbon determines the grade.(Registry values: P10)
