1873 1C Open 3 MS66 Red and Brown NGC. CAC. This 1873 Open 3 Indian cent displays original frosty mint luster and a bright peach-colored patina spread throughout the obverse. The reverse bears a similar hue with a trace of lilac and amber. Only the deepest shades of color on the reverse prevent full Red classification. The Open 3 issue is rare in this Red and Brown grade with no finer examples at NGC in the category (11/24). Housed in a no-line "fatty" Generation 5 holder, with a green CAC sticker for its outstanding patina and eye appeal. Census: 8 in 66 Red and Brown, 0 finer. CAC: 7 in 66, 0 finer (11/24).(Registry values: P5)
