Lovely MS65 Red 1876 Indian Cent
1876 1C MS65 Red NGC. Coins such as this are always a miracle of preservation. Who set this aside and why? How did the original surfaces stay intact over the past 134 years? We will never know, but collectors from prior generations certainly had a sense of responsibility to us and future generations when they did preserve coins such as this one. The surfaces are light orange-red and well-matched from side to side. The uppermost feathers on the headdress are softly defined, but the remainder of the coin is fully brought up.
