Description

Sharply Defined 1877 Cent, AU53

1877 1C AU53 PCGS. Despite a mintage close to 1 million pieces (852,500), the number of surviving 1877 cents is unusually low (Richard Snow, 2009). Medium brown patina bathes both sides of this AU53 example, and sharp definition is apparent on the design elements, including all letters in LIBERTY. The upper diamond is typically crisp, and the others display at least partial detail. A few light circulation marks are unworthy of individual mention. This is a great coin for a high-grade Indian cent collection.(Registry values: N1793)
