1877 1C MS65 Brown NGC. Designated Brown by NGC, there is almost no true brown toning present on this Gem 1877 Indian cent. Tinges of copper-red luster surround the relief elements, while the remainder of each side shows rich plum and violet toning. The strike is slightly soft on the reverse shield and on Liberty's lowest hair curls. There are no distracting carbon spots. Census: 8 in 65 Brown, 1 finer (3/17).(Registry values: N4719)
