Description

1877 Indian Cent, MS65+
Red and Brown With CAC Approval

1877 1C MS65+ Red and Brown PCGS. CAC. This Gem 1877 Indian cent is an extraordinary representative of the key issue. While designated Red and Brown, both sides have nearly full brilliant orange mint luster with delicate blue and lilac overtones. As usual for circulation strike examples, the bottom of the N in ONE shows weakness and the top of the N in CENT also shows weakness. This is one of just two 1877 Indian cents that PCGS has certified as MS65+ Red and Brown with only seven finer coins. Just 12 others are graded MS65+ or finer with the Red designation. Listed among the 100 Greatest U.S. Coins. CAC: 42 in 65, 2 finer (3/26).(Registry values: N4719)
