Description

1877 Indian Cent, MS65 Red
Famous Key Date Issue

1877 1C MS65 Red PCGS. Snow-2. Eagle Eye Photo Seal. A diagnostic die dot is clearly visible at the junction of the hair and neck just above the ribbon. The bottom of the N in ONE and the top of the N in CENT show weakness that is typical of circulation-strike 1877 Indian cents, although the sharpness of those letters varies from one example to another. Proof strikes have those letters boldly defined and serve to distinguish the production formats. Splashes of blue and violet toning appear on the brilliant orange mint surfaces of this important Gem example. Population: 29 in 65 (3 in 65+) Red, 9 finer (1/25).(Registry values: N7079)
