Magnificent MS66 Red 1878 Cent
1878 1C MS66 Red NGC. This peach-red Premium Gem has booming luster, and the strike is intricate save for the upper right corner of the shield. Only microscopic flecks and ticks deny technical perfection. Mintages had yet to recover from the 1877 drought, since the 1878 is the final Philadelphia issue with a mintage of less than 6 million pieces.
