1878 Cent, MS66 Red
Only One Coin Numerically Finer
1878 1C MS66 Red PCGS. CAC. Although not considered a
significant key issue, in Gem or finer full Red grades, the 1878
Indian cent is only marginally more plentiful than the key-date
1877. This Premium Gem representative displays sharp detail
throughout the headdress feathers, ribbon, and wreath, and
delicately preserved surfaces exhibit satiny coppery-gold luster
that deepens to orange-red over the reverse. Only a couple tiny
specks are detectable with magnification. Population: 15 in 66 Red,
