Description

1885 Cent, MS66 Red and Brown
Lovely CAC-Approved Example

1885 1C MS66 Red and Brown NGC. CAC. Eagle Eye Photo Seal, card included. Vastly more Red than Brown with only glimpses of olive and mahogany against dominant copper-gold and salmon shadings. This is a well-defined Premium Gem with clear diamonds, showing softness only on the right portion of the shield. No bothersome carbon spotting is seen. The 1885 Indian cent is conditionally quite scarce in this high grade, even within the Red and Brown category. CAC coins are rare. Census: 22 in 66 (1 in 66+ Red and Brown, 1 in 66 ), 2 finer. CAC: 11 in 66, 1 finer (3/24).
