1888/7 1C Snow-1, FS-301, XF40 PCGS Secure. Smooth, even chocolate-brown surfaces show only a few minor marks, with sharply struck devices to represent the problem-free XF grade. This Cherrypickers' and Guide Book example is among the classic varieties sought by Indian Head cent collectors. The "ear" of an underdigit 7 clearly shows beneath the second 8 in the date, and the tip of the 7 shows below the lower loop of 8 as well. A diagnostic die break is visible on the rim above E of UNITED. Population (for the variety): 5 in 40, 18 finer (11/18).
