Description

Red Superb Gem 1893 Cent
Tied for Finest Certified

1893 1C MS67 Red NGC. A magnificently preserved example of the 1893 cent, which has just two MS67 Red examples in the combined certified population with none finer (3/13) despite a mintage of more than 46.6 million pieces. The colors are rich and deep, fiery reddish-orange and peach, without ever sliding into mahogany or other "Brown" shades. Four full diamonds appear on Liberty's ribbon and only minor striking softness is noted at the tips of the uppermost feathers on the headdress. The surfaces remain virtually unmarked and have only a few tiny stray carbon flecks.(Registry values: N4719)
