1897 FS-401 Cent, MS65 Brown
Errant 1 From Neck
1897 1C MS65 Brown NGC. FS-401, Snow-1. Formerly FS-011.5 as
noted on the NGC holder. A wildly misplaced date variety with an
errant 1 protruding from Liberty's neck just above the beads.
Golden-brown with aqua hues near the margins. Nicely struck with
satiny luster and glossy unmarked surfaces. In all grades, NGC has
certified just 18 examples. Census: 2 in 65 Brown, 0 finer
