Some flowlines on each side are evidence of die overuse, but there are absolutely no post-Mint distractions visible on either side of this remarkable Premium Gem business strike. Orange-gold surfaces boast a uniformly bold strike. The 1897 cent had a mintage exceeding 50 million pieces, but Premium Gem Red examples such as this piece are elusive.
